style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The Lansing Symphony Orchestra is
seeking original scores by local young composers ages 9 – 18.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The winning selection will be featured
on the Symphony’s annual Young People’s Concerts on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1
ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:date Year="2007"
Day="21" Month="3">Wednesday March 21, 2007</st1:date> at the
<st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Wharton</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType>Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> and the Family Concert, the
evening of <st1:date Year="2007" Day="22" Month="3">Thursday, March 22,
2007</st1:date> to be presented in <st1:place><st1:City>Charlotte</st1:City>,
<st1:State>Michigan</st1:State></st1:place>.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This week of concerts is an opportunity
where area school-aged children get to experience the Lansing Symphony Orchestra
performing live.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Not only do
students have a chance to hear a professional orchestra, but also get a chance
to hear their peers perform selections in collaboration with the LSO.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The Young People’s Composition Contest
will give these audiences a rare opportunity to experience an original piece of
music composed by an area youngster.</FONT></FONT></P>
