
<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><div><b style="font-size: 13px; ">Michigan Youth Arts Newsletter- November 2010</b><br><br><b>Holiday Emporium</b> <br>Our second annual auction is online November 29 through December 3, just in time for holiday giving! <br><br>Bid on gift certificates, sports memorabilia, art, music lessons and more! Funds raised go towards our efforts to advocate for arts education in Michigan and continue the amazing tradition of the Michigan Youth Arts Festival. <br><br>Shopping is easy! Just visit the Holiday Emporium starting Friday the 19th for a sneak preview and printable catalog. Then check back between November 29 and December 3 to place your bids on our dedicated eBay page! <br><br>Bid early and often to support arts education in Michigan! <br><br><b>The Path to 2011</b> <br>Certain deadlines are coming up for a chance to participate in the 49th Michigan Youth Arts Festival, May 12-14, 2011! <br><br><b>Poetry Out Loud</b> <br>Schools can host their own poetry reading competitions and select a student to represent them at the state finals. The top four finalists from the state level will be invited to the Michigan Youth Arts Festival. The deadline for schools to submit applications to participate in the program is November 19. <br><br><b>Dance</b> <br>Any Michigan high school, private studio or community organization that holds a current organizational membership to the Michigan Dance Council may apply for the ensemble adjudication. Student choreographers with Michigan Dance Council membership can apply for the choreography adjudication. Applications must be postmarked by December 10 to participate in the February 6 adjudications in Flint. <br><br><b>Film/Video</b> <br>Six Best of Show Winners at the Michigan Student Film & Video Festival in April get scholarships to the Michigan Youth Arts Festival in May! The application deadline is March 4.<br><br><b>We've Moved! </b><br>Michigan Youth Arts has brand new offices in Royal Oak. <br><i>You can now find us at:</i> </div><div>Michigan Youth Arts <br>301 W 4th, Suite 415 <br>Royal Oak, MI 48067 <br>248-545-9200 (T) <br>248-545-9201 (F) <br><br><b>Poster Contest</b> <br>High school artists, enter the Michigan Youth Arts Festival Poster Contest to win the chance to have your work featured on a special edition 2011 Festival poster! <br>The winning artist receives a $100 prize and ten copies of the final poster. Artwork can be created in any medium, but entries must be submitted in a digital format. <br>Check out the contest guidelines and email your submission by December 10! <br></div></div></body></html>
