<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-size: 10pt;">Michigan Youth Arts, on behalf of the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, is offering Michigan K-12 schools grants of up to $500 to pay for transportation costs associated with an arts- and culture-related field trip. <span style="font-size: 10pt;">We will begin accepting new applications for the 2013 Spring Cycle starting December 3, 2012 through January 25, 2013. </span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Schools may only apply once per school year. Therefore, if your school has been approved for a grant, you may not apply again. This new application is for schools who have not received a grant in the 2012-2013 school year. The award recipients will receive complimentary tickets and transportation to one UMS School-Day Performance in the 13/14 season for the winning educator's classroom and for up to four classrooms at the winning school; one in-school artist interaction for the winning educator's classroom and at the winning school; presentation of award at the UMS Ford Honors Gala benefiting UMS education programs on Saturday, March 16, 2013; and public recognition of awardees in local media outlets and to school board and district administration. </p>
