We are getting in gear for the 2014 Michigan Music Conference and the deadline for submissions is tomorrow, April 2nd. If you have an idea for a session, go to <a href="http://www.michiganmusicconference.org">www.michiganmusicconference.org</a> and click on the link "2014 Interest Session Proposals". The proposal form is fairly simple and self-explanatory. See the list below for session topic suggestions that we received from the post-conference membership survey. <br>Session topic suggestions:<ul><li>Secondary technique: violin, viola, cello, bass</li><li>Harp Sessions</li><li>Guitar Sessions – integrating with orchestra/band?</li><li>Recruitment, retention and program development</li>
<li>Elementary rehearsal techniques and repertoire selection</li><li>Middle & High School rehearsal techniques and repertoire selection </li><li>Classical string sessions</li><li>Movement sessions (Alexander, Feldenkreis, yoga, etc.)</li>
<li>Fundraising</li><li>Getting Students to practice, how much time to teachers require students to practice, and what do other teachers practice records look like.</li><li>Quick fixes (of instruments) during the rehearsal-ways to spend less time tuning or maintenance issues and more time rehearsing.</li>
<li>Chamber Music</li><li>Studio Topics: How to stay fresh within your studio--not do "same old, same old"</li><li>More hands on sessions. Bring your instrument and play something!!!</li><li>Outreach string programs and how to manage them. </li>
