We will rehearse on Thursday morning, serve as the lab ensemble for orchestra conductors as a part of the Conducting Symposium in
the afternoon and then play a short concert on Friday evening.

The repertoire will be the Werin, Serenade for Strings, Grieg’s Two Elegiac Melodies (for strings) and Von Suppe’s Light Cavalry Overture (full orchestra)

As of now we have 2 clarinets, 1 French Horn, 2 trumpets and 1 trombone. We really need to fill out the instrumentation to make the Von Suppe work. If you are already planning on being there on Thursday for another session, or meeting,
we will only need to rehearse this piece for approximately ½ hour from 11:30-12:00 noon that day. Hopefully you can break away for that short period and come and join us.

Please contact me via email at
dreed@bloomfield.org if you’d like to join us and be sure to let me know your instrument preference. The Von Suppe is available at imslp.org and strings, I can send you a pdf of the Werin.
