The 6th annual Bass Bash at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016.<br>
<br>
Bass Bash is a clinic for beginning, intermediate and advanced classical and jazz bass students in grades 6-12 and their teachers. Students will play in small ensembles, have a technique class, work on a massed ensemble piece, and give a short informal performance at the end of the day. We will also have a secondary instrument bass class for teachers who are interested in developing their bass skills and learning about double bass pedagogy.<br>
<br>
Our featured Bass Bash clinician is Max Dimoff, principal bassist in the Cleveland Orchestra. Max will be teaching the U-M Double Bass Studio this year and we are thrilled to have him at Michigan!  Also on the faculty are several other well-known bassists including Diana Gannett and Robert Hurst, John Kennedy, Larry Hutchinson and Maggie Hasspacher.<br>
