<p>Dear MASTA Members,</p>
<div>This is a reminder that we are currently taking nominations for
MASTA Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year for 2019.</div>

</div>
<div>After I sent the last message, I received some questions about
what information needs to be sent with a nomination. Nick Mosley,
our MASTA webmaster, has developed an online form that you can use
to submit a nomination. The form is here:<br>

<div>For Teacher of the Year, please include a statement about the
nominee’s work and accomplishments within the string teaching
profession and MASTA. This might include such examples as where
the nominee has taught, dates of service, past awards, special
achievement; and the nominee’s impact on the lives of students.
This year's nominee must be an orchestra teacher/director.<br>

<div> The minimum qualifications for nominees include:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>10 years of quality teaching in the state of Michigan</li>
<li> Demonstrated service to the profession</li>
<li> Member in good standing of ASTA</li>
<li> Nominated by a current MASTA Member</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>For Administrator of the Year, please include a statement about
the candidate’s strengths as an arts administrator in support of
string programs in Michigan. This might include examples of how
the nominee has made a difference in particular teaching
situations, orchestra programs and/or students’ music education.<br>

</div>
<div> The minimum qualifications for administrator nominees include:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Administrator for 5 years in the State of Michigan</li>
<li> Significant contribution to the promotion, maintenance,
and/or growth to string education in Michigan.</li>
</ul>
</div>

</div>
<div>Please submit your nominations using the link above by <b>Friday
November 9.</b> <br>
</div>

</div>
<div>A ballot will be sent once the nomination period has ended.</div>
<div>The winner will be announced at the Michigan Music Conference
in January.</div>
