[MASTA Board] MMC Thanks

Dear MASTA Board:


I hope everyone is home safely and ready to get back to work.  It's hard to leave the MMC utopia where everyone understands the value and POWER of music.  I'll also miss the 'love in the room' wherever string teachers are gathered!


Business first:  We were supposed to vote on Abby Alwin's grant request from Joe Harmsen.  It is a Program Grant (different from the one he got last year) and no one else applied.  I asked several of you at the reception but to be legal, we should vote.  Please send a yes or no in reply to this e-mail.

Thank you for your hard work, professionalism, collaboration and support as MASTA Board members.  Our board is the equivalent of a top-notch chamber orchestra where each member is a prepared, effective and talented artist.  From the bass to the solo violin, each person is important to the end product.  We have achieved a magical synergy.  Our MASTA ensemble is more powerful than a philharmonic!


Thank you also for your kind and positive words.  I was deeply moved and humbled by the ovation at the General Membership meeting.  It was one of the most heartwarming moments in my career.  I remain honored to serve as your guest conductor!
