Hello All,
I also didn't see an attachment, but here is what I can say about Scott
Laird.
Scott is one of the kindest, most thoughtful music educators I have ever
come across. His knowledge in the field is vast-- from conducting to
pedagogy to music repertoire selection to classroom management. He is truly
a gem. When I heard he was conducting our Middle School All State, I
immediately called him and asked to chat for a while when he was in town,
because I always leave conversations with him inspired and with new ideas
for the classroom.
I also carved out about 2 hours of my conference to sit and watch him work
this year, and I witnessed a lot of great learning in the room. Bringing
him to Michigan again in my opinion would be a fantastic idea, but we
should try to get him to do a few other sessions as well within the deal.
It would be worth it.
If it doesn't happen next year, I would encourage us consider it for
another year in the near future.
My two cents!
Warmly,
Jonathan Glawe
