2006 Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Folk Artist and Outstanding Jazz Recording
Music students, friends, and family have the opportunity to experience this international award-winning fiddler's lively and inspiring musical entertainment. Jeremy grew up in Ann Arbor and Saline, Michigan, and started playing the violin at five, as did his older brother and younger sister. Although his lessons focused on classical violin, his mother's love of folk music led Jeremy to begin learning fiddle tunes at 8. Her family is of Scottish descent, and by 12 Jeremy was competing nationally in Scottish Fiddling. The 22 year old Mr. Kittel has performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., as well as on the nationally syndicated show "Prairie Home Companion" with host Garrison Keillor. He is a widely sought after soloist, entertainer with sell-out crowds all over the country. As the winner of Scottish Fiddle competitions, and many other prestigious awards, the Michigan native is definitely not to be missed in this rare opportunity for Lansing area music lovers.
Individual tickets ($10)
