Greetings colleagues,

My name is Aaron Tenney I am a high school orchestra teacher and double
bassist in the Lansing/Grand Rapids, Michigan area. As part of my graduate
studies in double bass I am researching the different method books and solos
that we use as bass teachers. I believe that sharing our favorite methods
and repertoire with one another can further the success of all of our
students, and if you will please take a moment to reply I will be happy to
share the compiled responses with you.

1.	What method books did you use as a student? What do you remember about
using those books? What method books do you use with your students? What
are the particular strengths/weaknesses of these materials?

2.	Do you use particular solos to teach arpeggios, scales and specific
technique?

3.	Is there anything you wish was published for you to use with your
students?

Thank you for your help,

Aaron E. Tenney
