[Members] A Spring Concert

Dear MASTA and MSBOA Members,
 
I hesitate to clog up your email with an invitation to a school concert, but
I think this one may be kind of special.
 
On Sunday May 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Bloomfield Hills Andover High School, is
our Spring Band and Orchestra Concert.  It is my 25th year in the schools
and am kind of celebrating by performing the first movement of Prokofiev¹s
g minor Violin Concerto with our Symphony Orchestra and my father, Russell
Reed, is briefly coming out of retirement to conduct it.
 
There will also be three premiers on this program as well.  We have
commissioned a piece from Bob Phillips which will be performed by my 8th and
9th grade orchestras combined and our Symphony Band is performing a piece
written by a former student, in honor of his brother, another former
student, who pasted away this past year.  The Symphony Orchestra Strings
will premier the Sonata, fourth movement, by Franck, which I just finished
arranging for string orchestra and hope to have published this next year.
 
Again, I¹m sorry to be self-promoting, but I am quite excited about this
program and hope some of you may wish to attend.  There is no admission
