Dear MASTA colleague!

This is your last reminder to attend next week's fabulous Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids, January 24-26th.  It's still not too late to pre-register either on line or by phone but you'll have get right on it as the last date to pre-register is tomorrow, Friday January 18th.  Call 734-975-1297 or register on the web at www.MichiganMusicConference.org.  

If you miss that deadline, on-site registrations are always welcome and be sure to purchase your MASTA luncheon ticket with your registration.  Saturday's MASTA luncheon meeting begins at 11:00 am and will end prior to the 1:00 pm start of the All State Honors Ensemble performances.  

You will not want to miss this year's luncheon soloist!  We have invited the Grand Prize winner of the Michigan soloist competition, Barbora Kolarova, to perform at the luncheon.  Barbora now studies with former Michigan native Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music.  She will fly in from Philadelphia just to perform for all of us at the conclusion of the luncheon.  In addition, we will award our Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year Awards, and enjoy a wonderful 5 star lunch in the Imperial Room at the Amway Grand.  

The MMC Conference will host over 30 string clinics and sessions, 5 public school orchestra performances, many more demonstration groups, the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra on Thursday evening, and the All State High School and Middle School Honors Orchestras on Saturday afternoon.  

Treat yourself to a long weekend of string related activities and camaraderie!  I'll look for you.
