English Teachers: Submit Student Pieces
by February 1
Teachers may submit poetry, fiction and drama, completed by their
grade 9-12 students after February 1, 2009, for Michigan Youth Arts
Festival adjudication. All work must be submitted by a current member
of the Michigan Council of Teachers of English, make use of the given
forms, and arrive in the proper format. Top students will be invited
to attend the Michigan Youth Arts Festival and have their work
published in the 2010 Festival Creative Writing Book. Download forms
and guidelines here to be ready after the winter break!
Registration is Open for Summer 2010!
Festival alumni are invited to the inaugural Michigan Youth Arts Trek
to New York City, July 26-30.
Arts Trek is a travel tour for people with a passion for the arts. It
allows participants to explore a new city and experience its artistic
culture first-hand, through tours and performances, but also workshops
and behind-the-scenes access rarely afforded the casual tourist.
Participation in Arts Trek 2010 is limited to the first 40 Festival
alums (students, parents or teachers) who sign up. Download a flyer
with a complete itinerary, here. And register today!
