Dear Colleagues,

Wow! What a terrific Conference! Super clinicians, concerts, presenters, presiders, friends and fun! Thanks to all of you for a VERY successful 3 days. I don't have all the statistics yet, but we know this has been the largest attendance ever....Hope you all came aware renewed, refreshed, reacquainted and reenergized! I suspect that the classrooms all over the State were on FAST forward today as we all tried something new!

Guess what I did yesterday? Yep! Reviewed all your comments and began outlining the sessions for NEXT year. Really. [No rest for the weary or the wicked.....]

As this conference grows, I am seeking specific additional sessions to offer under the headings of
1. Private Studio Teaching - what things do you do with private kids - how do you organize your studio - specifics...
2. University Forum - I would love to highlight our collegiate friends and their terrific ideas for problem solving at this higher level of instruction - instrument specific - possibly a session on how to prepare high school students for college auditions - processes, preparation, etc. You're the experts!
3. Suzuki studios - how to organize, what you do, demo groups of various levels, etc....
4. Guitar and Harp - specifics! How to organize, set up, run, curriculum, how to include into the school day, etc.....

As well as continue the venue of

 1. Instrument specific pedagogy
 2. Curriculum development
 3. Alternative Styles
 4. Elementary – Middle School – High School specific instruction ideas - things to add to that big bag of tricks!
 5. New teacher/College teacher preparation and support
We are currently revamping the proposal form. All sessions MUST be submitted online. The online submissions begin in February. YOU be thinking about areas you can present and be prepared to upload your session on the website: When I send the next email be prepared to go to www.michiganmusicconference.org<http://www.michiganmusicconference.org/> to submit your suggestions. NO! It is not ready yet - just take a few weeks to get your thoughts together. I'll email you all again.

This conference is designed with YOU in mind, so get your thoughts and ideas together.....

More later!
Thanks for all you do!

Val
