Dear Members of the Michigan American String Teachers Association,
 
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Hopkins to the
position of Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of
Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. Dr. Hopkins has been on the
music faculty of the University of Vermont since 1999. In addition to his
teaching, conducting and professional service, he is active as a composer,
and his online String Pedagogy Notebook has received wide acclaim as a
resource for string teachers and performers.
 
Thank you for your interest as we conducted this search, and we hope that
you will have a chance to welcome Michael after he arrives at UM in the
Fall semester.
