Dear Colleague,

I am soliciting the help of expert string educators such as yourself to complete a survey entitled, An Examination of Teacher Perceptions on Memorization as a Teaching Strategy in the String Instruction. Please consider participating.

The purpose of the survey is to examine how music educators feel about memorization in the string-learning environment. Currently, little to nothing is known about this topic, so your input is very important to us. The completion of this survey should take no more than 5 minutes of your time.

To protect your anonymity, you will not be asked to provide any identifying information. Completions of this survey indicates your willingness to take part in this study and that you are at least 18 years old. You may refuse to participate in this survey without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. You may also discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits. Decisions made during this survey will not affect your standing in the string education community or your employment status at your school or business.

If you choose to participate, the survey may be found at this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FQ97BDP
Please do not forward the link to any other individual, it is specific to your email address.

If you have any further questions about the project or participants’ rights, feel free to contact me at jmdakon at ku.edu or the KU Internal Review Board, HSCL at ku.edu . Reference HSCL #20733.

Thank you in advance for your responses!
