Greetings Colleagues, 
The Kent Philharmonic Orchestra is a community orchestra sponsored in large part by Grand Rapids Community College. The orchestra is in its 39 th season! It presents four major concerts annually, in October, December, March and May. Please check out the web site at kentphil.org. The orchestra is excited to be sponsoring its inaugural concerto competition for high school instrumental (except piano) students in Michigan. It is the orchestra’s hope that this will become an annual event offering opportunities to orchestral instrumental students and possibly in the future to piano students. 
We’re hoping that you’ll be able to spread the word to your membership via e-mail. Please also send the information to any private teachers that you know who are working with qualified students. 
Attached are a poster and an application which details the competition.
