Dear MASTA,
Oxford Community Schools is posting a long term (9-week) substitute position commencing on March 26, 2015 . This position is primarily middle school orchestra along with a beginning first year orchestra component. The elementary portion of the position includes a daily contact with beginning fourth graders 45 minutes per day, five days/week. The middle school assignment has an advanced sixth grade orchestra as well as sections of beginning sixth graders. Separate seventh grade and separate eighth grade orchestras round out the assignment.
The orchestra program is almost eight years old. The outgoing teacher is one of the program’s original founders. He has accepted a position out of state to join his new bride but has left behind a wonderful and enthusiastic bunch of students! As a school district, Oxford Community Schools is completely supportive of all of the fine arts and has demonstrated their commitment regularly and repeatedly. If you have any particular questions specific to the open position or the program in general, please feel free to contact the Pre-K – 12 Grade Orchestra Coordinator, Zeljko (Bill) Milicevic at Zeljko.milicevic at oxfordschools.org or contact him by phone at (248) 969-5100 ext. 4117.
