[MASTA] New MASTA Executive Board

On May 15, 2016 our MASTA Board changed hands. It has been a wonderful
experience serving on this board as president the past couple years. I now
hand the gavel over to Janis Peterson. She has done an outstanding job as
president elect and I look forward to having her serve in her new role. Dan
Scott will take over as president elect and start the position with a great
deal of knowledge and energy. I look forward to seeing what direction they
take the organization together.

 I want to thank Diane Winder for her lifelong commitment to MASTA. She is
leaving the executive board after 6 years of serving but I know she will
always be a part of this wonderful organization. I had the pleasure of
serving with her, getting to know her and the passion she has for string
teaching. Gabe Villasurda is also stepping down as our member at large.
Gabe is a MASTA Lifetime Achievement Award winner and is known throughout
the world as a wonderful resource in string education. Gabe has also been a
wonderful mentor to me.

Our new board met on the 14th during the MYAF to start our transition and
planning for next year. Please contact any of these wonderful volunteers as
they continue working for our membership. Please consider helping where you
can. If you have any new ideas for MASTA, would like to be involved or have
a concern you would like to share please contact any board member.
