[MASTA] Fwd: WMU ASTA Skunk Orchestra Event

> On April 8th, 2017, our chapter will be hosting an event, Skunk Orchestra, from 10 am - 2 pm in Dalton Center for aspiring music educators. Patterned after the Skunk Band activity our instrumental methods students do every fall, Skunk Orchestra gives music education students the opportunity to teach, while also learning about classroom management. Each student participant will be assigned to an instrument (other than their primary instrument), which will simulate what is to like to be a beginning string player. Student Participants also have the option to sign up to be a "Teacher" and teach a 3-5 minute lesson from the first Essential Elements book. Dr. John Lychner, WMU Professor of Music Education, will be providing helpful comments and tips during each lesson!

> The WMU ASTA Chapter would like to invite any MASTA member who is interested to participate and provide guidance to the Music Education students who come to the event. Feel free to bring your own instruments to play, lists of advice, anecdotes from your own classrooms, or all of the above.
