Blue Lake's Advanced Chamber Orchestra auditions Due February 28

Blue Lake's unique Advanced Chamber Orchestra program offers advanced string students an opportunity to perform with Blue Lake's faculty and staff in the Summer Arts Festival Orchestra in a Live Broadcast for an audience of 2,000 in the campus' beautiful Stewart Shell. In addition, the ACO performs chamber works in a final performance. Private lessons with Blue Lake's distinguished string faculty compliment the program. Students interested in auditioning for the Advanced Chamber Orchestra must submit a recorded audition by February 28. ·         The Session 1 Festival Orchestra and Advanced Chamber Orchestra are under the direction of Dr. Alex Jiménez, Professor of Conducting and Director of Orchestras, Florida State University. Repertoire includes: Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy and Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis on themes of Carl Maria von Weber.


·         The Session 2 Festival Orchestra and Advanced Chamber Orchestra are under the direction of Dr. Raphael Jiménez, Director of Orchestras, Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Repertoire includes: Berlioz's Symphony Fantastique.


·         The Sessions 3 Advanced Chamber Orchestras are under the leadership of Dr. Igor Kalnin, Professor of Music at Luther College, professional violinist, and Concertmaster of Blue Lake's Festival Orchestra.  Repertoire includes: Beethoven's Emperor Overture.
