Dear MASTA Members,
This week is always an exciting week for MASTA. This week's Michigan Music
Conference is certain to be another excellent celebration of music
education in addition to a great opportunity to refresh and/or invigorate
your teaching.

Join us at 8 AM on Friday for our MASTA General Membership meeting. We
will have coffee and refreshments to get your conference off to a good
start and we'll share some details on what's going on with MASTA!

Charles Laux is our headliner this year and he will be doing some wonderful
sessions on beginning instruction, incorporating technology, and 21st
century assessment. Check out his sessions if your schedule allows.

Our teacher orchestra looks to be great once again. John Varineau of the
Grand Rapids Symphony will be leading the orchestra this year. If you are
not playing, please consider attending the concert on Friday at 7 P.M. in
the Ambassador Ballroom.

After the teacher orchestra concert, we will be hosting an ice cream social
for MASTA members. Stick around after the concert to celebrate our Teacher
of the Year and Administrator of the Year recipients and spend some time
with your wonderful colleagues.

If you are unable to attend the conference this year, continue to watch the
MASTA Blog for all things MASTA. The website and blog continue to be an
excellent resource for our members and a great place to keep informed.

Have a GREAT week and hope to see you in Grand Rapids!!
