Dear MASTA Members
It is one of those exciting weeks in MASTA as we prepare for the Michigan
Music Conference. Several wonderful MASTA members have put in a ton of
volunteer hours to create a wonderful conference for orchestra teachers. I
was just reading in the Facebook group about the disappointment of some of
our friends in other states about the lack of string sessions at
their conference. This year we have over 14 string-specific sessions in
addition to the numerous other experiences related to teaching orchestra.
Specifically, I have a couple invitations to extend.
Join us for the *Teacher Orchestra performance* on Friday night at 7 p.m.
in the Ambassador Ballroom. This concert (if you're not already
performing) is always a great break from the hustle and bustle of the
conference and a chance to focus on the our daily teaching goal - good
music making.
After the concert the conference is celebrating 15 years with a party 20
Monroe Live - a concert venue near the hotel. Stop on over for a free
performance featuring the Crane Wives along with food and refreshments.
*Beginning at 9:30 p.m*. until ? You are invited to the top of the Amway
tour - floor 26 as MASTA will host a members reception in the DeVos suite
atop the Amway Grand Hotel. Come for fellowship, food, and a GREAT view of
the city and river. We'd love to see you there.
Stop by the booth over the entire weekend for some ASTA swag and finally
please make sure to attend our *general membership meeting on Friday at 8
AM*. We will have some door prizes for those in attendance and we want to
celebrate our Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year nominees.
We will also provide you with some coffee and doughnuts to get your day off
to a solid start!!
Hope to see you at the conference!
Sincerely,
Dan Scott
