Dear MASTA Members, please join me in congratulating Bob and Pam Phillips!!
With great pleasure, the Midwest Clinic Board of Directors, and Board
President, Rodney Dorsey, are honored to present you with the Midwest
Clinic Medal of Honor. As you know, the Medal of Honor is awarded to
conductors, educators, composers, and others whose distinct services to
instrumental music education and continuing influence on the development
and improvement of bands and orchestras deserve the highest recognition.
Over its 75 year history, the Medal of Honor has been presented to over 100
individuals.
As a musician and educator of extraordinary stature in America you are a
role model within the profession and are welcomed into the group of
honorees that includes Leonard Slatkin, Jacquelyn Dillon-Krass, Morton
Gould, Howard Hanson, Dorothy Straub, Karel Husa, Glen Cliffe Bainum,
William D. Revelli, conductors of America’s premier military band, and
other persons of distinction.
The date, time, and location of the presentation for you award wiil be as
follows:
Tuesday, December 20, 7:30 pm in 375AB of the McCormick Center (just before
the Chicago Sinfonietta concert)
