Greetings, MASTA Members!

The 2023 MASTA Resource Guide is here! Each December, we send this to
members with information about our upcoming events, as well as a recap of
our previous year. Here is a link to the latest edition:

I would like to thank this year's MASTA sponsors for their generous support:

   -

Platinum: Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Interlochen Center for the Arts
   -

Gold: Meyer Music, Baroque Violin Shop, Shar Music
   -

   Silver: Marshall Music

I would also like to thank Joe Harmsen for all of his great work as our
Advertising and Sponsorship coordinator!

We are excited about all of the events that we had this past year; the
Resource Guide contains recaps of our Award Winners, Chamber Music Festival
winners, and Solo Competition winners.

We are also very excited about all of the upcoming events we have on our
calendar! The Resource Guide contains detailed information about all of
these upcoming events:

   -

The Michigan Music Conference: January 19-21 in Grand Rapids
   -

The MASTA Chamber Music Festival: March 6 at Western Michigan University
   -

The ASTA National Conference: March 15-18 in Orlando.
   -

The ASTA Certificate Advancement Program (ASTACAP): May 21 in Jackson.
   -

   The MASTA String Camps: Session 1 - June 16-18; Session 2 - June 19-23;
and Session 3 - June 25-July 1. All camps are held at the Howell Nature
   Center.

Special thanks to Jim Van Eizenga (MMC), Mary Kothman (Chamber Music
Festival), Shawn Boucké (ASTACAP), Caitlin Mihalko (MASTA String Camps),
and Melissa Knecht (Solo Competition, held this past November) for planning
and coordinating these MASTA events, and to all the other incredible board
members and project directors. MASTA is truly fortunate to have such a
dedicated group of people willing to serve the organization!

Finally, the Resource Guide also contains information about the nominees
for Teacher of the Year, as well as a link to the ballot that was shared on
December 1. Please cast your votes by January 4, 2023!

Thank you for all you do for string education in Michigan! I hope that you
all have a RELAXING, festive, and safe holiday season!

Musically yours,

Amy
