[MASTA] ASTACAP 2024 Information

Greetings!
The 2024 ASTACAP has been scheduled to occur at McCourt's Music in Novi on
April 14th, 2024. The venue offers an excellent layout featuring multiple
rooms for student adjudication and warm-up purposes.

The American String Teachers Association (ASTA) offers the Certificate
Advancement Program (ASTACAP) to set national goals for string students
through non-competitive exams, assessing technical and musical
achievements. With program flexibility, teachers can choose appropriate
repertoire, and ASTACAP provides a structured curriculum with 11 levels,
offering valuable feedback and enhancing teacher credibility.

ASTACAP benefits students with certificates for each level, motivating
growth, and offering in-person or online evaluations to boost confidence
for performances, competitions, and auditions. It ensures consistent
musical standards nationwide, aiding students' smooth transitions between
teachers and accurately tracking progress.

More information will be sent out concerning registration in the near
future with registration due around the end of January 2024.

This event is exclusively for studio teachers who are active members of
ASTA. Kindly share this information with teachers who might be interested
but are not yet members. Our inaugural Michigan ASTACAP held in May was
highly successful, featuring 40 registered students spanning from the
foundation level to level 10. Notably, each student received a passing
certificate!
