Greetings, MASTA Members!
The 2024 MASTA Resource Guide is here! Each December, we send this to
members with information about our upcoming events, as well as a recap of
our previous year. Here is a link to the latest edition:

I would like to thank this year's MASTA sponsors for their generous support:
-
Platinum: Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Interlochen Center for the Arts
-
Gold: Meyer Music, Baroque Violin Shop
-
Silver: Marshall Music
I would also like to thank Joe Harmsen for all of his great work as our
Advertising and Sponsorship coordinator!
We are excited about all of the events that we had this past year; the
Resource Guide contains recaps of our Award Winners, Chamber Music Festival
winners, and Solo Competition winners.
We are also very excited about all of the upcoming events we have on our
calendar! The Resource Guide contains detailed information about all of
these upcoming events:
-
The Michigan Music Conference: January 25-27 in Grand Rapids
-
The MASTA Chamber Music Festival: March 4 at Western Michigan University
-
The ASTA National Conference: March 20-23 in Louisville, KY
-
The ASTA Certificate Advancement Program (ASTACAP): April 14 in Troy
-
The MASTA Solo Competition: Preliminary Round due November 1.
Special thanks to Jim Van Eizenga (MMC), Mary Kothman (Chamber Music
Festival), Shawn Boucké (ASTACAP), and Melissa Knecht (Solo Competition)
for planning and coordinating these MASTA events, and to all the other
incredible board members and project directors. MASTA is truly fortunate to
have such a dedicated group of people willing to serve the organization!
Finally, the Resource Guide also contains information about the nominees
for Teacher of the Year and the Executive Board, as well as links to the
ballots that were shared earlier this week. Please cast your votes by
January 3, 2024 for Teacher of the Year and January 12, 2024 for the
Executive Board!
Thank you for all you do for string education in Michigan! I hope that you
all have a RELAXING, festive, and safe holiday season!
Musically yours,
Amy
