[MASTA] MASTA Camp 2023

Hello MASTA Members,

I look forward to another great year of MASTA Camp this June 2023 at the
Howell Nature Center and invite you to please share this information with
your students and their families. The MASTA String Camps are held at the
Howell Nature Center in Howell, MI. The Nature Center has wonderful
facilities for our campers, including cabins that are carpeted and air
conditioned with attached modern bathrooms.

This year is the 50th year of MASTA Camp! Any camp alumni or former staff
are welcome to send a message to be added to our "50 Years of Memories"
page via this form <https://forms.gle/XYnwfoYwm3Tt9Z5w9>.

The deadline for applications is May 1st and we have an online registration
platform again this year. For more information about the camps you can
visit our website at www.mastastringcamps.org. Registration information and
the link to apply are available on the Registration
<http://www.mastastringcamps.org/registration.html> page of the website.
Information about the individual sessions can be found on the About Camp
<http://www.mastastringcamps.org/about-camp.html> page. I have attached a
flier that can be distributed to your students. Online application is
preferred but paper applications can still be mailed in as well. Those
applications are available on the Registration page of the website.

We have three videos on YouTube that you can show your students so they get
an idea of what camp is like. The main video is on the camp website, but

There is a scholarship program for camp sponsored by MASTA for those
students in financial need. The application is available on the MASTA Camp
website on the Registration page at
http://www.mastastringcamps.org/registration.html. This application needs
to be sent separately to our Outreach Chair, Joanna Van Eizenga, for
processing. The deadline for the scholarship applications is April 15th,
2023.

The MASTA String Camps are a great way for young students to come learn
more about their instrument in a fun and encouraging environment. Students
of all ability levels are welcome at camp. We differentiate instruction at
camp based on ability level so that all campers' needs are met. We also
make sure that they have plenty of fun away from their instrument by
providing a variety of traditional camp experiences.

We are assembling a wonderful staff this year and look forward to working
with your students! I am still hiring counseling/instructional staff.
