Greetings, MASTA Members!

I am so excited to see everyone at MMC this weekend! Please be sure to
check out the full schedule of MMC events and sessions; we have a great
conference planned! (Huge thanks to Jean Lee and Jim Van Eizenga for all of
their work on the Planning Committee for us!)

I wanted to share with you a few details and updates for Friday's MASTA
events:

*8AM - General Membership Meeting (Imperial Ballroom)*
This will be a great kick-off to our conference, including:

   - Information about our year's events (both past and upcoming)
   - Voting on our proposed By-Laws amendments
   - Creating the first of our "MASTA's Greatest Hits" repertoire lists
together via Google Form - please come with the name and composer of one of
your favorite teaching pieces (string orchestra, solo literature, or
   chamber music) in mind. :)
   - Taking a picture for National ASTA to use in publicity of our 2025
   ASTA Outstanding State Chapter Award
   - Meeting our MASTA Headliner, Sarah Ball
   - PRIZES!

We will have a QR code and links for all meeting documents included in our
meeting slides, so please bring your device. For those unable to make it in
person to our meeting, I will email and post a link to our slides
afterwards.

*7PM - Teachers Orchestra Concert (Ambassador Ballroom)*
Composer Stephanie Ann Boyd will be attending this event. We will be
performing her piece, "Four Future Memories," as a part of the program.
Stephanie is a graduate of Pioneer High School and is now based in New
York.

*8PM - MMC MASTA Jam Session (Ambassador Ballroom)*
Come jam with us directly following the Teachers Orchestra Concert! We will
have packets of tunes for you, so no experience necessary! These packets
feature 45 tunes (including 12 new ones for this year!) written in all 3
clefs, so you can take them and use them with your students, no matter what
instrument. Please spread the word - this jam does NOT have to just be for
MASTA members or string players. :)

*9:30PM - MASTA Party in the Suite (Van Andel Suite, 26th Floor)*
There's no party like a MASTA Party! Please come join us for snacks,
drinks, and camaraderie! Huge thank you to Nancy Feldkamp (my mom) for
baking well over 1000 (nut-free) cookies and to Sarah Lenhart for putting
together ALL of the rest of the food and drinks for us!!! (I will have
gluten-free and dairy-free cookies (free from the Top 9) as well.) Hope to
see all of you there!!!

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,
Amy Marr
