Subject: PETITION - SOS
PETITION to the Livonia Public Schools and School Board:

Please include the opportunity for instrumental string music instruction at
the same level of instruction as instrumental band music for Livonia
Elementary School Students in fall 2006.  The future of Middle School and
High School String Orchestra programs is important to us and will be
jeopardized by the elimination of elementary string music instruction.

The "Legacy Initiative" was presented as "improving" or "restoring"
educational programs at the 5th and 6th grade level, not eliminating them.

I am a Livonia Public School District parent, student, teacher, resident,
Livonia Youth Philharmonic Orchestra or Livonia Symphony Orchestra member,
or former Livonia student or resident.
