To those who have requested information regarding The 2006 American 
String Workshop.





For several reasons The American String Workshop will reconvene in 
2007.  In the interim, I am holding a week long workshop at The 
University of Michigan beginning July 3 and ending July 7. This is 
titled “The Art Of The Orchestra Teacher”   The daily schedule will 
have the sessions from 2:00 to 7:00 daily and will include a 2 hour 
daily laboratory orchestra of middle level students for participants of 
the workshop to hone their delivery and instructional skills while 
being video taped for later reference.       	I will focus upon group 
process pedagogy delivered from the podium covering sequence of 
technique from beginning to advanced, delivery skills including energy 
profile, pacing and stressing non-verbal strategies.  The Master  
Teacher Profile will be used for each analysis.  Participants should 
bring string instruments although we do have larger instruments 
available for those who are traveling some distance.
       	The workshop can generate two graduate semester hours if you 
wish.  There are several options for off campus living that can be
