[MASTA] MMC Session Proposal Deadline

Greeting!

This is a friendly reminder and an invitation! We are getting in gear for
the 2014 Michigan Music Conference and the deadline for submissions is
tomorrow, April 2nd. If you have an idea for a session, go to
www.michiganmusicconference.org and click on the link "2014 Interest
Session Proposals". The proposal form is fairly simple and
self-explanatory. See the list below for session topic suggestions that we
received from the post-conference membership survey. If you have any
questions feel free to contact us.

Session topic suggestions:

   - Secondary technique: violin, viola, cello, bass
   - Harp Sessions
   - Guitar Sessions – integrating with orchestra/band?
   - Recruitment, retention and program development
   - Elementary rehearsal techniques and repertoire selection
   - Middle & High School rehearsal techniques and repertoire selection
   - Classical string sessions
   - Movement sessions (Alexander, Feldenkreis, yoga, etc.)
   - Fundraising
   - Getting Students to practice, how much time to teachers require
   students to practice, and what do other teachers practice records look like.
   - Quick fixes (of instruments) during the rehearsal-ways to spend less
   time tuning or maintenance issues and more time rehearsing.
   - Chamber Music
   - Studio Topics: How to stay fresh within your studio--not do "same old,
   same old"
   - More hands on sessions. Bring your instrument and play something!!!
   - Outreach string programs and how to manage them.
   - Electric Instruments (for the non techie)
   - Assessment
