The CMU School of Music is having their annual String Day

All string students 7th-12th grade are encouraged to attend.

*Wonderful Opportunity for Preformed String Groups*
String Day provides a wonderful opportunity for pre-formed string
groups. One high school chamber ensemble (trio, quartet, quintet, sextet)
will be selected to play for the Elias String Quartet Master class at 11 am
on Thursday, February 20th at the CMU School of Music.

All high school chamber groups who would like to be considered for this
unique opportunity should submit a video recording playing a movement of
their choice from the chamber music literature to Jamie Fiste at
fiste1ja at gmail.com by Monday, February 10th by 5 pm.

Even if your string students are not in a preformed ensemble, they are
encouraged to join us for the day as there will be many string activities!

*Schedule of Events*

10 am: Presentation on rehearsal technique


11 am: Elias String Quartet Master Class


Noon: Pizza lunch provided


1-3 pm: Chamber music reading with faculty/coaching of pre-formed groups.



3-4 pm: Workshop sessions by instrument.



4-5 pm: Student concert (students will have the opportunity to perform)


7:30: Elias String Quartet Concert
