[MASTA] MASTA Updates from MMC 2026 - Including Awards

Greetings, MASTA Members!

We had a great MMC this past weekend; thank you to all worked tirelessly to
make this such a successful event, especially Jim Van Eizenga, Jean Lee,
and Dan Scott (our MMC representatives) and all who presented! Here are a
few highlights:

*GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING*

*JAM SESSION*
If you missed our MASTA Jam on Friday night, here

in all 3 clefs for you to use freely - just watch out for the viola part of
Blackberry Blossom, as we discovered that I inadvertently put the break
rather than the tune in for that. (I'll fix it for our next jam!) :)

*AWARD WINNERS*
Congratulations to the following 2026 award winners who were recognized at
the 2026 MMC:

   - 2026 MASTA Teacher of the Year: Ingrid Dykeman-Corle
   - 2026 MASTA Early Career Recognition Award: Allie Holden
   - 2026 MASTA Administrator of the Year: Trevor Alward, Grand Blanc
   - 2026 MASTA Career Excellence Award: Marilyn Kesler
   - 2026 National ASTA Elizabeth A.H. Green Award: Dan Scott
   - 2026 National ASTA Student Exemplary Service Award: Andrew Kales

*MASTA HAMSTA AND SPIRIT WEAR*
We debuted the MASTA Hamsta at MMC - he has his own line of water bottle
stickers that we gave away at the booth, and he also has his own line of
t-shirts, with other spirit wear items to be added soon. Check out the

Speaking of the MASTA Hamsta Spirit Wear, congratulations to *Linda Trotter*

*WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK!*
Our Executive Board and Program Directors are looking for your ideas and
feedback in two separate Google Form Surveys, both of which will close on
February 14. Please take a few moments to help us with our future
programming!

1. We are collecting suggestions/brainstorming for our Summer Retreat, held
on Monday, June 29 at MSU. Please visit

2. We are also in the process of collecting feedback on all of our MASTA
