All,
I've heard back already from Mark Stice regarding conducting symposium
clinicians. Symposium clinicians are not given a stipend, however, one
night in the hotel and the conference registration is covered.
In light of this, I would be in support of supplying enough money to cover
Scott's flight to get here but not for any type of honorarium as that would
create issues regarding past practice as well as with the band conducting
symposium clinicians not receiving a stipend. MASTA and MSBOA work out how
the one night in the hotel is covered already and he would get free
conference registration. Additionally, in the past, presenters have come
from out of state and they are responsible for all of their costs.
Again, should we choose him to be our headliner, then the grant is not
needed.
