UP Chamber Music Festival
The UP Chamber Music Festival was held October 13th and was a HUGE success! There were 26 ensembles/96 students, 18 string teachers/coaches, 2 music companies and several parent volunteers working together for music-making, learning and growth. Student ensembles had three coaching sessions, a reading session, improv class, opportunities to try new instruments and on-stage performing
Michigan Youth Arts
It was my absolute privilege to fill in for Richard Piippo at the 2016 Michigan Youth Arts Festival. Studio Teacher of the Year Recognition
MASTA’s 2016 Studio Teacher of the Year, Wendy Azrak, was honored at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival in May. She received a Touchstone Award and was recognized with other organization Teachers of the Year at a dinner and at the Gala Concert. Wendy’s eloquent remarks inspired all those in attendance and she represented the Michigan
Bass Bash
The 6th annual Bass Bash at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Bass Bash is a clinic for beginning, intermediate and advanced classical and jazz bass students in grades 6-12 and their teachers. Students will play in small ensembles, have a technique class,
